Meet this week’s Alumni Spotlight: Dayjha Dixon! Dayjha attends Morgan State University where she is working towards a degree in Political Science. During the 2024 Workshop season, she returned to PeerForward to serve as a member of our Alumni Support Team. We caught up with her to learn more about her college experience thus far and why she chooses to serve as a PeerForward Alumni:

Why do YOU serve?

I serve as a PeerForward Alumni to give back. I loved the community I was given when I joined the program and I want to give the same energy and opportunities I had to the next generation of Peer Leaders.

What’s been the best part of attending your college/university?

The best part of attending Morgan State is the community. We are a family; it’s like a home away from home. I also like how everyone has their own sense of self.

How did PeerForward change your perspective of college?

PeerForward changed my perspective on college by showing me there’s more to explore than just my home town. I was encouraged to step outside my comfort zone, make new friends, and let my guard down.

How have you been a positive influence to your peers in college?

I’ve been a positive influence on my peers in college through my high spirits. I always try to make the best out of situations.

What’s one piece of college advice you’d offer Peer Leaders?

One piece of advice I’d give to Peer Leaders is to network. You never know who you might meet and how they can help you. Sometimes its not about what you know, it’s about who you know.
