PeerForward Alumni like Richard L Johnston carry the flame of a Peer Leader long after their Workshop. This week, our Alumni Spotlight is on Richard, a student at The University of Buckingham majoring in Law. We caught up with him to ask about his college life in England and discuss why he continues to serve as a PeerForward Alumni:
Why do YOU serve?
Serving as a PeerForward Alumni was the logical next step in my journey. I truly loved my time as a Peer Leader, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to give back to the next generation. It was the best decision I have made yet!
How did PeerForward change your perspective of college?
PeerForward made the concept of attending college seem achievable. Without PeerForward, I would not be attending The University of Buckingham right now.
How have you been a positive influence on your peers in college?
I acted as a positive influence on my peers by pushing one of my friends to apply for college. He was accepted and is now excelling in his second year at Bermuda College
What’s one piece of college advice you’d offer Peer Leaders?
Think ahead about college, but not to the point where your head feels like it will explode. Instead of stressing yourself out, look forward to it as one step closer to the life changing experience of getting your degree.
