During the fall of 2024, PeerForward announced the launch of two dynamic development programs—Coaching Development and Operations Development—designed exclusively for PeerForward Alumni.
This new cohort of PeerForward Alumni will be essential to the 2025 Workshop season and PeerForward’s newest pilot program, The Peer Leader Journey.
Introducing the members of the Coach Development Program and Operations Development Program.
Trainers:
Kaneisha “KeyKey” Wheelock: Kaneisha, affectionately known as KeyKey, has been a part of the PeerForward family since it impacted her life during the 2008 College Summit Peer Leader Workshop. Today, she is a trauma therapist at the VA Medical Center, an adjunct professor for graduate-level students, and the owner of a private practice. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2015 with a Leadership Distinction and was honored as the BSW Student of the Year. In 2017, she earned her master’s in social work with a Veteran and Military Family Specialization from the University at Buffalo, where she was also awarded the prestigious Arthur Schomburg Fellowship.
Tamika “Mama T” Gordon: Tamika, affectionately known as Mama T, joined the PeerForward movement as a Peer Leader. Tamika completed her workshop in 2002 at Trinity Washington University. A proud HBCU graduate of Norfolk State University, Tamika received her B.S and Master’s in Chemistry. Tamika applies her talents as an educator for Friendship Collegiate Academy, guiding students toward academic success and postsecondary preparedness.
Activation Coach Cohort: The Front Line
The Coaching Development Program trains alumni on mentoring and coaching techniques to serve Peer Leaders as they transition to the next step of their postsecondary journey.
Giselle Oval:
Giselle is a first-generation Dominican-American hailing from Miami. She seeks to make a change and inspire young adults just as she has been inspired. Giselle currently attends Broward College, working towards an electrical engineering degree with hopes to join the military in the future. She loves traveling, being outdoors, and making new connections.
Gregory A Lindsey: Greg hails from South Carolina. He currently works in Home Depot Delivery and logistics and is pursuing a career is in mechanical engineering. Recently, he earned his associates degree and will be starting his bachelor’s degree in the fall. While he loves tech, he also has a strong passion for helping and inspiring others to see their own light.
Tyree Qwamae Bell: Hailing from Prince George’s County, MD, with strong North Carolina roots, Tyree Bell proudly serves his community as a third-generation educator at KIPP DC’s Arts and Technology Academy. Living by his philosophy that “every student is a student of mine,” Tyree connects with learners of all ages, planting seeds of knowledge and wisdom to guide them toward success in both life and academia. As a Peer Forward Alumnus, he is most notably known for his impactful work as a Writing Coach. Now, he is poised to take the next step in his journey, becoming one of Peer Forward’s newest Activation Coaches in the rising coaching cohort, The Front Line!
Rodney Julian Pennington: Rodney is a 2022 graduate of Morehouse College who completed his PeerForward Workshop in 2017. Inspired by the potential to impact others, he returned as a volunteer Writing Coach in the summer of 2024. He looks forward to helping students achieve their leadership potential and discover greatness in themselves during this new chapter in his PeerForward journey.
Maulana Jenkins: Maulana Jenkins, a senior at the University of Maryland Global Campus, has an unwavering passion for creating meaningful change. She’s gained invaluable experience through internships at Public Defenders Offices, education-focused nonprofits, and private defense firms. In her role as an Activation Coach, Maulana is dedicated to encouraging, informing, and inspiring those around her.
Joshua Dela Rosa: Joshua was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and had the chance to study abroad in Seoul, Korea. He aspires to be a mentor to young adults and hopes to show students that no matter their life conditions and where they are now, they can achieve their goals and have a fulfilling life and career!
Marcus Prince: Marcus Prince is from Washington DC. He is an alumni of Friendship Technology Preparatory High School and currently attends Prince George’s Community College where he is majoring in marketing management. He believes that everyone has the potential to change the world, and he hopes that his presence can help nurture that belief and motivate others to believe in their own ability.
Event Operations Cohort: The First Class
The Operations Development Program trains alumni on how to execute large-scale events, honing event planning, project management, and logistics skills.
KeShaun Luckie: KeShaun is a multifaceted artist; an actor, writer, director and DJ. When he is not being creative, he works as a Recess Coordinator for NYC Public Schools. The last of seven siblings born to parents from Guyana, his ultimate life goal is to create a production company to produce art of various mediums from several first-generation Caribbean/West Indian artists.
Chrisann Bramwell: Chrisann Bramwell is the Events Manager for PeerForward who joined the team in summer of 2020. At PeerForward, she practices what she loves most to do: supporting youth. She is a graduate of American Intercontinental University where she earned her BA in Marketing.
Alivia Graham: Alivia Graham is a College and Career Advisor for students in Houston, Texas. She has served the PeerForward community as both an alumna and former Operations Specialist. In 2024, she earned her Master of Education from the University of Houston.
Lashaevia Burns: Lashaevia, also known as Shae, was born and raised in Miami-Dade County, FL, specifically Liberty City. As a teenager, she attended Miami Jackson Senior High School. She has been an Alumni since 2015 and has long aspired to be a Coach. Through her experience in this new program, she hopes to gain knowledge, self-motivation, and lifelong peers.
Krystal Bydonne: Krystal Bydonne hails from Queens, New York. She is a recent graduate of Hunter College, where she received her master’s degree. Currently, she works as a project manager. Previously, she acted as an assistant PeerForward Workshop director where she worked to create a space for other Alumni to learn and grow.
Khadeejah Woods: A native of Brooklyn, New York, Khadeejah is a recent graduate of Morgan State University where she earned her B.S in Psychology. Khadeejah experienced the transformative impact of PeerForward firsthand. As a proud testament to its effectiveness, she is committed to giving back by supporting and empowering the next generation of Peer Leaders. She looks forward to this new opportunity with PeerForward for both personal and professional growth.
Delvoun McClain-Smith: Delvoun McClain-Smith is a first-generation college student from Oakland, CA. He is currently a third-year student at University of California, Riverside, where he is double majoring in psychology and business with a concentration in management. He has served as both an operations captain and peer support specialist captain at previous PeerForward Workshops.
Taylor Bramwell: Taylor Bramwell is a two-time grad and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based in Maryland. She was born and raised in Prince George’s County, but being a first-generation Jamaican, her Jamaican roots run deep. She recently became a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C), the highest level of social work licensure.
