Moises Urena, now a SUNY student, came to believe he could go to college after attending a PeerForward workshop. There, he was not only inspired to seek higher education, but to help his friends to do the same. Moises arrived on campus fairly well-equipped; once homeless, he could spot the other students struggling financially. Now, he advocates for financial aid.
The Hechinger Report and the Albany Times Union recently shared Moises’ story in “A Mother and son go from homeless to college.” We hope you will give it a read.
