As a full member of the board, Student Regents represent over 170,000 students across the 12 universities in the USM. Student Regents actively participate in Board Meetings, sit on committees, meet elected officials, and hold voting rights. Additionally, the Student Regent designated for a given year holds the single voting position. As a student leader in Maryland, Rayne’s experiences as a Peer Leader have honed essential skills for this role.

During her time at DuVal High School, Rayne served as a Peerforward Senior Captain, leading a team of students and participating in summer training at Nazareth University. This experience allowed her to connect with student leaders across the region, further developing her leadership, dedication, and open-mindedness. Key lessons learned during Rayne’s journey include self-awareness, passion, and goal setting. These principles have transformed her into a leader and advocate committed to making a positive impact on the world. Rayne’s passion for making a difference fuels her dedication to pushing the flame in her heart with the goal of inspiring others to do the same.
