From November 11th-13th, The Well to Step Up to The M.I.C.™ was held in Baltimore, Maryland.

Curated by New Profit, a philanthropic organization, this conference promised to be a dynamic event.

This unique experience was rooted in “Restoration + Joy, Engagement, Connection + Belonging, Empowerment + Action, and Hope.” PeerForward’s CEO, Gary Z. Linnen, was in attendance to take advantage of all it had to offer.

According to New Profit, The Well to Step Up to The M.I.C.™ was a

three-day convening. A vibrant space for connection, restoration, and critical sense-making, where conversations about the future of our nation took center stage.”

As a result, our CEO Gary Z. Linnen was eager to attend. PeerForward is dedicated to investing in the futures of our students by crafting them into the leaders of tomorrow.

While there, he ran into Jeremiah O’Bryant, a PeerForward Volunteer. Seeing one of our volunteers step up and take action by attending this event is a testament to the talented community in our program. For us, this chance meeting is particularly impactful.

During such a divisive time, the convening’s focus on action and empowerment served as a strong reminder that our work MATTERS. We at PeerForward will continue to serve our students and help them navigate their futures and uplift their peers.
