We are proud to announce that PeerForward has been named the 2024 National College Attainment Network (NCAN) Member of the Year!
This respected award recognizes the relentless commitment of PeerForward to empower low-income students to access and succeed in higher education and to fulfill NCAN’s mission of building, strengthening, and empowering communities and stakeholders to close equity gaps in postsecondary attainment for all.
Since our founding, PeerForward has been guided by the mission of empowering low-income students to forge their own paths to higher education. Yet, despite all the progress we’ve made, there’s still a long way to go. Many students continue to face significant hurdles in accessing college opportunities, and this recognition underscores the importance of the work ahead.
Our success would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our Peer Leaders, volunteers, alumni, staff, Board, and advisors. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, funders, and educators for their continued support in driving our mission forward.
In addition to receiving this honor, PeerForward team David (D.C.) Howard, Hana Visaya, Kevin Naiker, and Lara Flath led a powerful session at the NCAN conference titled Effective Student Coaching: More Important than Ever in a Post-Affirmative Action World. In an impactful reflection of PeerForward’s mission, this session addressed the challenges and opportunities in assisting students toward postsecondary success amidst changing educational landscapes. Their insights and expertise exemplify our commitment to adapting and innovating in the face of evolving barriers.
