Peer Leaders in Philadelphia are reaching new heights! On February 19th, 14 Peer Leaders from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Pa. were invited to the NASDAQ office in their city to get an exclusive look into the company and the exciting work happening there.
The day began with a walk-through of the NASDAQ office, where Peer Leaders learned the history of the company and met some of the professionals who work there. Peer Leaders were coached through an “elevator pitch” exercise, learning tips for communicating their goals and strengths to others, then practicing their pitches with their peers and other NASDAQ professionals in the room. Peer Leaders were later joined by Antoni Mikalis, Surveillance Analyst, and Michael Blackson, Senior Director of Floor Surveillance, to have a candid conversation with students about their own career paths and day-to-day experience in their jobs.
Peer Leaders were all smiles as they admired by the office’s scenic views of their city skyline. Having soaked up such great knowledge about possible careers that day, it’s no wonder they’re glowing so bright!
PeerForward would like to thank our NASDAQ contact, Tanya Smigocki, Senior Advisor of Corporate Responsibility, for welcoming our Peer Leaders into your office and sharing valuable career readiness lessons that will go on to help our students achieve postsecondary success.
